My deepest condolences to the McNamara family. I knew and worked with  Cathy at Affiliated Radiologists when she was a xray tech.  She was a no nonsense type of person BUT very kind and caring to our sick patients.  I remember her stopping by the front desk to shoot the breeze with us receptionists at times. To Tell us funny stories or to vent, sometimes.  It was all good. She was straightforward though, lol. When we messed up a rec, she definitely let us know.  But she was good at what she did and it showed. 

I am truly sorry to hear about her passing.  Really sad. May God give her family and friends comfort during this difficult time.  RIP Cathy, you were loved much!!!!

Cathy was that special person who always took people under her wing during times of crisis and sorrow making sure that you could make it through to the other side. During my husband’s illness she called me every night until he was out of the woods.
She was a true friend. 
The one thing she prized above everything else was her family. Her parents were always in her thoughts and prayers. Her family here on earth was her priority. She was proud and deeply loved each and every one of you.
I will miss you more than words can ever express.

I had the pleasure of working with Cathy way back to Affiliated Radiologists, Rush  and last at NMH.
Cathy was a tough cookie with a heart of gold. I will always remember her quirky sense of humour, her laugh and her quotes.   She touched so many lifes on her earthly journey.  If you ever needed her, she was there, no ifs or buts about it.  You could always depend on Cathy.
I loved hearing her stories about her growing up and even though I 've not met you, I feel as though I already have thru her pictures and memories.
You know fact is we spend more time with the people we work with than our home family.  Our work family has lost a link with Cathy, but we are richer and stronger for having known her.  
Please know she loved you with all her heart and she impacted so many people for the better.
Cathy, I will miss you my friend, and until we meet again at our next assignment may God hold you in His arms.

Cathy was one of those rare, instant connections that leaves permanent footprints on our heart.  From the time we met back in HS, there was a lifelong bond of friendship through all of the ups & downs of Life's beauty & challenges.  Most recently through the challenges & heartbreaks of my little sisters journey with cancer that recently called her home.  She always made time to be supportive to anyone who needed her.   One of her many gifts.   She  made us laugh & was a total spitfire.   She made everyone around her feel good about themselves.  This photo was our last reunion at one of her favorite restaurants.  We picked up right where we left off the last time we saw each other.  Gone way too soon, we go on with broken hearts until we meet again.  My heart & prayers for God's peace go out to her siblings & loved ones left behind.

Don't be dismayed at Goodbyes.  A farewell is necessary until we meet again. And meeting again, after moments or lifetimes, is certain for those who are friends...

My heartfelt condolences to Cathy's family and friends. I met Cathy through a mutual friend that was Cathy's good friend since childhood. Cathy was a genuine, kind person and could make you feel as if you had known her for a long time.  As it turned out Cathy and I had a mutual acquaintance before I had even met her, small world!!

To the McNamara family,

I worked with Cathy in mamms at NMH for three years.  I was new in the field and Cathy literally took me under her wings and taught me, very very patiently. 
Yes, she was brash.  Yes, she was opinionated and yes, she was a force to be reckoned with. 
The memories she shared about her past, peppered with Cathy's graphic idiums were hilarious. 
Though my time with her was brief,  it was long enough that when i heard of her passing i was struck with intense grief.  
When i come across a bag of gardetto rye chips i will think of her. Cathy was right, most people i have met are Cray Cray.


My heart hurts to think about Cathy being taken so young. She was a friend to so many.  She will be missed just for being herself. Love you !

Cathy was an amazing wonderful woman! She was a driving force behind our successful Manor's Reunion years ago. So much fun, so much kindness...When I was diagnosed with breast cancer 3 years ago, she talked me down off the ledge and taught me how to "play the insurance game" to find a wonderful cancer doctor and surgeon.  As a childhood friend and as my adult friend. Rest in Peace, Cathy. You will be SO MISSED!!! Deepest sympathy to the family.

Cathy was the leader of a of  the “Crazy Irish Macs” !
Though not lucky enough to maintain a friendship with her through adulthood, my mermories of Cathy are she was funny as hell and kind to a fault.  As Debbie’s & Tommy’s sister & Danny’s on again off again Girlfriend, There was nothing Cathy wouldn’t do for me. It is the McNamara way.

I am SO VERY SAD I can’t be there for you on Tuesday - I am have a procedure on my back that will preclude me from sharing my sympathy in person. Otherwise nothing would keep me from Oak Lawn on Tuesday.

Please know you are all in my heart; and I will be praying for the entire Mac family during this difficult time. I hope you are comforted knowing Cathy is with Mom & Dad; and they will be caring for all of you from their home in Heaven.

Childhood friend.  Stood up in her wedding.  So sorry to see you passed.  My dad passed away soon afterward.  She loved him.  

As a radiologist, worked with Cathy at Rush in the 8os and at northwestern since then. A wonderful positive person with great spirit, a terrific technologist, she will be sorely missed. 

My sincere condolences to Michael, Danny, Susan, Cathy's nephews, and niece. Cathy loved you all dearly, I know because she  told me, and she talked about you so lovingly. 
Cathy helped me through a couple a rough periods in my life, for which I will never forget her. Her humor, her take on life, and yes, even her sarcasm, always made me laugh. Just hearing her laugh was infectious. Yet, she was fierce and focused if you ever asked for her help with anything.
