Dawn K. Fortier

Dawn Kathryn Fortier, nee Dempsey, age 82, of Chicago, passed away on July 28, 2014. Beloved wife of 59 years to Henry. Loving mother of Lesley (James) Jercich, Dr. Glen (Michelle), Jill (Richard) Engel, Dr. Paul (Susan), Gary (Melissa), Philip (Moira), Dennis (Cynthia), Christopher (Heidi). Dear grandmother of Jack, Victoria, Buck, Beau, Bailey, Blake, Regina, Thomas, Matthew, Erin, Anna, Caitlin, Alec, Declan, Una Rose, Dean, Everett, Connor, and Dana. Preceded in death by her sister, Dana Pellegrino and her brother John T Dempsey. Dawn was a dedicated nurse for over 40 years and retired from Cook County Hospital in 1993. Dawn retired to Fort Myers, Florida where she continued to do volunteer work including Meals on Wheels in her community. Dawn’s heart was filled with love for her family. Visitation 9:00 AM Saturday at Sacred Heart Church 8245 W 111th Palos Hills, IL. followed by Mass at 10:00 AM. Interment private.
