Fernando M. Munoz passed away peacefully on March 13, 2026, at the age of 81 years. He was born May 31, 1944, in San Juan De Los Lagos, Jalisco, Mexico. Beloved husband of Maria (nee Franco) of 61 years. Loving father of Fernando Munoz, Nancy Munoz, Griselda (Jesse) Bedolla, Eduardo (Elizabeth) Munoz and Elsa (Alejandro) Botubol. Loving grandfather of Nikko, Vince, Alek and Jacob Munoz, Justine and Adam Losoya, Jesse, Cecilia and Christian Bedolla, Natalie, Alejandro and Eduardo J. Munoz and Markus Munoz. Cherished great grandfather of Diego and Leo Sanchez.

He founded El Chisme Restaurant alongside his wife in 1978, which then expanded to 4 locations with the support of his children, Eddie, Fernando Jr. and Nancy.

He will always be remembered for always telling jokes, traveling and making new friends wherever he went. His quick sense of humor, his entrepreneurial spirit, and his ability to attract good luck, people and most of all a generous friend.

Visitation will be held at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 W 103rd St, Oak Lawn, Illinois 60453, on March 19, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Prayers will take place at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 W 103rd St, Oak Lawn, Illinois 60453, on March 20, 2026, from 9:15 am to 9:30 pm.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 8200 S. Kostner Avenue, Chicago, IL, on March 20, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.

A Committal Service will be held at St Casimir Catholic Cemetery, 4401 W 111th St, Chicago, IL 60655, US, on March 20, 2026, from 11:30 am to 12:00 pm.
