This note was sent late than it should have been, but the memory of Mr. Demet during his St. Nicholas days with us and hearing about his army time brought joy to our family.

It has come as sad news that Uncle Gus has left us. Our prayers and thought are with you all. Memories Uncle Gus made for me were of man with great understanding and wisdom, his love of family knew no bounds. His humor was subtle yet sharp, I'll never forget the family dinners, the times spent in the yard, the barbecues, the good times shared in my youth, the wisdom shared as we aged.
I'll never forget the promise he made, and kept, not to trade in his car when he bought the next new one but sell it to me. It was my first real car!
It is said, even through tears, that if someone still speaks your name, a person is never really gone. Through my words and prayers, my Uncle Gus will always be with me,

Dear Demetracopoulos family,
I am deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Gus. He was truly a wonderful man, and I have so many cherished memories of him that will stay with me forever.

My dad and Gus shared a special bond, spending countless hours together outside, talking about the towns in Greece where they came from, and watching each other's tomatoes grow. They always enjoyed comparing whose garden was doing better, and it’s those moments of simple joy and friendship that will always stand out in my mind.

Our family is heartbroken by your loss. We love your family dearly, and we share in your grief. Gus was a caring and hardworking man who always put his family first. His presence brought warmth and love to those around him, and he will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Please accept my heartfelt condolences. May God give you the strength to carry on during this difficult time. Losing Gus leaves a tremendous void, but I hope that the memories of his kindness and the love he shared with all of you will provide some comfort.
