Jack D. Van Eck

Jack was the beloved husband of the late Audrey Van Eck (née Del Rosso); loving father to Wendy and Daniel Van Eck; cherished grandfather to Christopher Van Eck, Gabrielle Van Eck, and Shannon Davis, all of whom brought immense joy to his life; dear brother to Janice Wagner and the late Terry Van Eck; fond uncle to many nieces and nephews who will remember him warmly.

He will be deeply missed by his devoted dachshund, Izzy, who was his constant companion.

Jack was an avid classic car enthusiast. He had a passion for life and adventure. In his younger years, Jack enjoyed piloting his own airplane, embracing the thrill of the skies. In his later years, he took great pride in working on cars, especially his prized ’48 Studebaker Champion, and enjoyed cruise nights with his “Muppets.”

Summers were especially meaningful to Jack, as he spent them in Pullman, Michigan, surrounded by family and friends, where he spent memorable moments fishing, boating, and both riding and racing his motorcycles. Those moments created lasting memories for all who knew him.

Jack’s sincere love for his family and friends will be remembered always and missed beyond measure.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the Elks Club, 10720 S. Central Ave., Chicago Ridge, IL 60415.
