Joan Elizabeth Essig, nee Signaigo, passed away on May 4th, 2025 at the age of 90. Beloved Wife of the late William Essig. Devoted Mother of Mark (Deborah) Essig, Maryellen Essig, Maureen (Tom) Ruff, and Tom (Amy) Essig. Proud Grandmother of Margaret Essig, Allison (Steven) Schering, Christine Essig, and William (fiancée Shelby) Essig, Beth (Danny) Thimons, Tommy Ruff, John Ruff, Mary Katherine Ruff, Wyatt Essig, and Colton Essig. Great-Grandmother to the late Grace; and Will, Cole, and Riley.
Dear Daughter of the late Thomas and Alice, nee Traynor, Signaigo. Loving and protective Twin sister to the late Joyce Signaigo. Fond Aunt to 20+ nieces and nephews.
A Visitation for Joan will take place Friday, May 16th, 2025 at St. Germaine Church, 9711 S. Kolin Ave. Oak Lawn, IL 60453 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM, followed directly by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM. Interment to follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Evergreen Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Our Lady at St. Germaine Parish are encouraged.
