

Loretta M. Lenich died suddenly on April 24, 2014. She was 84. Loretta was a long-time resident of Beverly and member of Christ the King Parish. She enjoyed taking art classes at the Beverly Arts Center, reading Victorian mysteries, and spending time with her family. She held a variety of jobs over the years. Among her favorite jobs was working with customers at Cupid Candies in Evergreen Park.
Loretta was born on June 23, 1929. She grew up in South Shore with her brother, Eugene (Sheila) Barton. She graduated from South Shore High School and later married John H. Lenich, a Chicago Police Officer. They had two children. Their daughter, Suzette, currently lives in Chicago with her husband, James Mahneke. Their son, John P., currently lives in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Visitation will be on Monday, April 28, from 3:00 to 9:00 at Blake Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 W. 103rd Street, Oak Lawn, IL 60453. The funeral mass will be on Tuesday, April 29, at 10:00 am, Christ the King Parish , 9325 S. Hamilton Ave., Chicago. Loretta will be laid to rest beside her late husband, John H., at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
