

Margaret (Peggy) Anne Doyle, age 92, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2026, following a long battle with dementia. She was born on January 1, 1934. Peggy and her husband, John Doyle, Sr., celebrated 70 years of marriage in November. She is survived by her husband, John Doyle, Sr.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Bertha and Charles Plaga; her son, John Doyle, Jr. (June 27, 2002); and her daughter, Anne Margaret Doyle (August 19, 2022). She was also preceded in death by several siblings, Mary Lou (survived by Henri) Labore, Charlie (survived by Beverly) Plaga, and Tom “Mike” (survived by Deb) Plaga.
She is survived by her siblings and sibling-in-laws: Betty Jo (the late Larry) Deforest. Margaret’s surviving children include Mary (the late Michael V.) Spence; Patrick M. Doyle, Timothy J. Doyle; and James E. (Linda) Doyle. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Luanne (Danny) Wojciechowski and Lily Doyle; and by her great-grandchildren, Haddey, Duke, and Marlow Wojciechowski.
Margaret was a force to be reckoned with. She grew up in Jackson, Michigan, where she developed a lifelong love of music. She served as President of the Bing Crosby Club, sang at the Cascades, and earned a scholarship to the Conservatory of Music in Chicago to pursue her dream of becoming a soloist.
It was in Chicago that she met her future husband while singing on his mother’s porch. She went on to perform many lead roles in St. Linus Church’s Way Off Broadway productions and sang with numerous groups, including the Moraine Valley Chorus and The Dorian Ensemble.
After raising her six children, Margaret worked for Midway Airlines, traveled extensively, and spent nearly 30 years as a snowbird.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to St. Jude's Childrens Research.
A visitation will be held at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, located at 4727 West 103rd Street, Oak Lawn, IL 60453, on January 7, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St Linus Catholic Church, 10300 Lawler Ave, Oak Lawn, IL 60453, on January 8, 2026, begininng at 9:30 am. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery & Mausoleum, 6001 W 111th St, Alsip, IL 60803.
