

Patrick "Packy" Bermingham, ret. CPD, was the son of the late John Bermingham, ret. CPD, and the late Margaret Bermingham, nee Schaefer. He is preceded in death by his beloved brother Edward "The Berm" Bermingham, and brothers in law John Walsh and Bill Ryan.
Packy is survived by his loving wife Gloria, nee Rodriguez, his adored daughters Livia and Nicole, his dear grandchildren Erin, Michelle, and Michael, and his devoted sisters Diane "Dee" Walsh and Margaret "Maggie" Ryan. He was deeply loved and admired by his many nieces and nephews.
Packy was a proud veteran of the Marine Corps and upon his discharge, he followed his father's footsteps and joined the Chicago Police Department, where he worked until he retired. Packy was a sports enthusiast and loved horse racing. He liked to discuss politics, had a great memory, was an avid reader, and was very knowledgeable about a great many topics. He always knew the "story behind the story".
Patrick was a graduate of St. Brendan's grammar school and St. Rita High School. He was a true Irishman and a proud South Sider.
Patrick Bermingham will be sorely missed by his family and his legion of friends.
A Visitation for Patrick will take place Sunday, March 16, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 W. 103rd St. Oak Lawn, IL 60453. Funeral to follow Monday, March 17, 2025 at 9:00 AM, proceeding to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 8245 W. 111th St, Palos Hills, IL 60465, for the Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Evergreen Park.
