Mr. Billish was so proud of his kids. It brings a smile to my face remembering all of the Olympic Festivals he and Mrs. Billish would drive 100's of miles to see their kids play polo. He always had a beer with us after the games. Cheers Dick!

Very sad to hear about Coach Billish passing.  I'm sure that I am just one of many from the early/mid 60's who's life was impacted positively by The Coach.  God bless...

My condolences to Dick's family and close friends. Dick and I were at Chicago Teachers College together and quite close at that time. I have been living in Minnesota and the Western Suburbs, so I rarely saw Dick in recent times. However, he was a very fine person and he be will be greatly missed by all who knew him in any way, both past and present.

Coach Billish made a great impact in my life. He took a potential dropout and gave me the confidence to excel in basketball and cross-country and school. I earned a masters degree and was a high school teacher and coach. I have been inducted into two halls of fame. Been married 41 years and have two grown children and three grandkids. I credit Coach Billish as THE most important person in changing the direction of my life. I only wish I could have shared this with him.  He will always be a part of me.

As an officer of the Harper High School lettermen's club in the early '60s, I fondly remember Coach Billish with the highest respect. I remember him as tough, but fair, and kind, but expecting discipline. He brought much-needed success to our basketball team, and instilled a sense of pride in his student athletes, and we were proud to have him as our basketball coach. He breathed fire into the Harper basketball team, and seemed to bring out the best in his players and students. We were hopeful that he could attend our 50-year reunion next year. He will be sadly missed. With sympathy and condolences to all of his loved ones, and highest regards...

We all know they broke the mold after a wonderful guy like Coach Billish came into the world.  I played basketball under his tutelege at Harper High.  He was a wonderful supporter of our scholorship efforts. My prayers are with his entire family.
