Roena Hicks

Roena Hicks, age 83, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 3, 2023. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, William L. Hicks; siblings: Shirley (late Joe) Morris, Gloria Joyce (late Larry) Dandrige and Terrence Donaldson; stepchildren: Lisa (Jerome) Barner-Hicks and Michael Hicks; sisters-in-law: Esther Lee (Lawrence) and Julia B. (Joseph). Roena is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Preceded in death by her parents: Sterling and Essie Steward and siblings: Dallas, Robert and Emma Jean.

Roena retired from Best Foods after many years of employment. She loved spending time at home with family and cooking. Roena also had an appreciation for fashion and shopping. Wherever she went, she always had the best-looking outfit for the occasion. Roena will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 11, 2023, at Christian Youth Church, 8801 S. Hermitage, Chicago, Illinois with visitation from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at 12:00 P.M. Entombment Evergreen Cemetery.
