

Sheldon Dugan passed away peacefully on September 18, 2025. A loving mother, loyal friend, and accomplished professional, Sheldon leaves behind a legacy of compassion, strength, and dedication.
Born and raised in the South Shore neighborhood of Chicago, Sheldon made Hyde Park her home for over 40 years. She was the proud mother of Lori Dugan (fiancé George Pajonk), whom she cherished above all else.
Sheldon built a long and distinguished career as the Head of Human Resources at the Bank of Hyde Park, where she worked for more than 30 years. Known for her fairness, warmth, and sharp sense of humor, she touched countless lives through her work and mentorship.
A graduate of Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, Sheldon also made her mark in the literary world. In the 1970s, she co-authored a book that is now preserved in the Library of Congress—a testament to her intellectual curiosity and lifelong love of learning.
Sheldon’s presence in the Hyde Park community and in the lives of those who knew her will be deeply missed. Her unwavering devotion to her daughter, her enduring friendships, and her vibrant spirit will live on in the memories of all who had the privilege to know her.
A visitation will be held on Saturday October 4, 2025 at Saint Phillip Neri Catholic Church, 2110 E 72nd St, Chicago, IL 60649 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am immediately followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Interment Saint Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Evergreen Park, IL. Services entrusted to the care of Blake-Lamb Funeral Home.
