Anita Rodriguez Tovar, a longtime resident of Anaheim CA, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her daughters, on April 23, 2026 at the age of 86. She was born in El Centro, California, to Miguel Rodriguez and Frances Moreno. Her biological father passed away when she was an infant and she recognized her stepfather, Sylvester Flores, as her dad. She was fun, spirited, adventurous, and loved exploring the US, Canada, and Mexico, with her family and pets in their travel trailer. She was wonderfully creative and enjoyed sewing, doll making, crocheting, knitting and quilting. She created many quilted heirlooms that her family will treasure for years to come.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Richard Tovar. She is survived by her sister, Rosemarie Rodriguez; and her 4 daughters, Cindy (John) Fedorchuk, Yvonne (William) Webb, Lorraine Tovar, and Arlene (Douglas) Oyler. She has 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
The family would especially like to thank her caregivers, Emma, Anne, Roy and her hospice nurses for the love, care and compassion they have shown.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Norbert Catholic Church, located at 300 E. Taft Avenue in Orange, at 10:00 am on Monday, June 8th. Following mass, at 12:00 pm, attendees are cordially invited to dine and celebrate the life of our loved one at The Hacienda, 1725 College Avenue in Santa Ana. For dining reservations, kindly RSVP to Cindy via text no later than May 23rd, (442)464-5995.
