Arturo was born on August 4, 1962, in San Diego, California to parents Esequiel and Amelia Mora. The family settled in the Oceanside eastside community where Art made lifelong friends and relationships. Art attended Laurel Elementary, Jefferson Jr High, Oceanside High and Mira Costa College where he was a standout baseball player. Art worked in construction for many years and was blessed with two wonderful sons, Arturo Jr. and Daniel.
Art loved all sports, from watching his beloved Chargers to boxing and bowling, but his true passion was baseball. He was a devoted Padre’s fan and even had one last opportunity to attend a game a few weeks prior to his passing. Art’s smile, laughter, and positive spirit will be missed by all who’s lives he touched. “Chiqui,” we love you and we will miss you. You may be gone, but you will never be forgotten and we will keep you in our hearts forever.
Arturo was preceded in death by his mother, Amelia, on Jan 22, 2020. He is survived by his father Esequiel P. Mora, children Arturo Jr. (Wendy) Mora, Daniel (Maribel) Mora, grandchildren Elijah and Elynah Mora, siblings Esequiel Mora Jr. (Anna), Myrna Rivas, Elvia (Rick) Levrier, and many nephews and nieces. A celebration of life for Arturo will be held Friday, Oct 21, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Eternal Hills Mortuary Chapel, 1999 El Camino Real, Oceanside, California 92054
