
Buddy R. Ingram passed away peacefully in Vista, CA on 11/10/2017. He was born on June 18, 1937 in Berea, Kentucky, son of George and Elizabeth Ingram. After his father died, Buddy and his Mother moved to Richmond, Kentucky where he went to school until moving to California. After graduating from John O’Connell High School in San Francisco, Buddy joined the Air Force with his first assignment at Luke AFB, Arizona--home of the THUNDERBIRDS. After one year at Luke, Buddy volunteered for reassignment to Shellingford Air Base in Wantage, England, where he met and married his beautiful wife Doreen Peggy Tilling. After completing four years in England, he was reassigned to McClellan AFB, California. Buddy also served in France, Germany, and Hawaii with deployments to Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, Formosa, and many other locations throughout the Far-east.
After retiring from the Air Force in 1977, Buddy worked at the Fallbrook Naval Weapons Station in the Air Launch Missile Branch of the Ordnance Department. Buddy completed his career at Fallbrook as the Director of the Security and Law Enforcement Department. He finished his employment days as Director of Maintenance and Operations at the Tri-City Medical Park in Oceanside.
Buddy was preceded in death by his parents, George and Elizabeth; eight brothers and sisters; and his son, Terry. He is survived by his wife, Doreen (Tilling) Ingram; his sons Russell, Karl, and Kelly; granddaughter Stacey; grandson Kory; one older brother, Charles; and sister Sarah.
Buddy was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars; American Legion; Disabled American Veterans; Elks Lodge; and many other groups/organizations.
Buddy will be cremated at Eternal Hills Mortuary and his ashes will be buried in the Last Supper Garden at Eternal Hills Cemetery in Oceanside, on 11/24/2017 at 2:00 p.m.
A celebration of his life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, 11/25/2017 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Elks Lodge in Vista.
