Dionisio J. Suarez, Jr. was born is Oceanside, California to Dionisio Sr. and Maria Luisa Suarez. He graduated from Oceanside-Carlsbad Union High School in 1949. He entered US Government civil service in 1950 at Camp Pendleton, where he was drafted into the US Army in 1952. He served with the First Cavalry Division, 7th Regiment, D Company in Korea on the 38th Parallel and Japan. He returned home in 1954 and met Aurora Licon on Thanksgiving Day. They enjoyed a magical courtship together and were later married on November 11th, 1956. Their union brought forth sons Dennis and Marco. Dionisio returned after the war and served within Base Material Supply Battalion until his retirement. He had 40 years of combined military and civilian service with the US Government. Dionisio resided in Oceanside his entire life and attended mass regularly at Mission San Luis Rey with his family. He served his extended family with counsel and support. He engaged in faith based civic action groups to improve the well- being of children and those less fortunate. He kept Jesus first in his life and was eager to share the gospel, the good news of Jesus Christ, with others. He was a strong, loving family man and provider.
He is proceeded in death by: Parents Dionisio Sr. and Maria Luisa Suarez, Richard Suarez (brother) and, Marian Suarez (sister). In-Laws: Cruz and Esperanza Licon, Cruzito Licon, Hugo Licon, Raul Licon (Susie) and Jose Luis Licon.
He leaves behind: Wife Aurora, Sisters; Helen Montanez (Tim), Jenny Suarez, Vera Yslava (Meme), Irene Inman, Pearl Medina and brothers; Eddie Suarez, Chino Suarez, Sons; Dennis Suarez (Michelle), Marco Suarez, Grandsons; William Suarez, Alexander Suarez and Jeremy Bowles. In-Laws: Mona Villalobos (Ernie), Rose Porter (Mike), Linda Gilge (Karl) and James Licon. He is also survived by numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces and godchildren.
Dionisio would often quote John 14:6 - Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
Even though you have been born into eternal life in Christ, we will miss you terribly. You have had such a profound effect upon your family and friends with the life you have lived. This world is a better place because of you. – Your Family
