Dwight Reece, 72, of Oceanside, California passed peacefully in his home, surrounded by family on June 9, 2025. He bravely endured Alzheimer’s.
He was born June 2, 1953 in Detroit, Michigan and resided in Oceanside, California for the last 50 years, having travelled around the world through the Marine Corps. After serving his country for a better part of a decade, he joined his brothers in blue to become a San Diego Police Officer from 1981-2003.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Carinna Reece. His children: Curtis Reece, Zennis Reece, Quentino Reece and his wife Maria Reece, Jermaine Jones and his wife Ligaya Jones, Eric Jones and his wife Cecilia Jones, Paris White and her husband Gilbraltar White Jr, Tracie Bartley and Amari Reece. His siblings: Katrina Burnett, Zennis Reece, Alexis Dobins, Mitzi Reece, Rhonda Scott and Xavier McCurry; along with fifteen grandchildren, almost 10 great-grandchildren and many neices and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 1pm, Friday, June 20,2025 at Eternal Hills, Oceanside, California. The family will receive friends and loved ones for a celebration of life after the service from 2pm-5pm at Eternal Hills.
