He served 21 years in the Marine Corps with two tours to Vietnam. He retired as a Gunnery Sergeant. He also retired as a carpenter.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Madeline in 1990.
He is survived by his companion, Sheryl Lyons; children Denise Hazlett, Margaret Hazlett, Wayne Hazlett, Scott Lyons, Susie Reynolds, Steven Lyons; grandchildren Christopher Hazlett, Derek Rembert, Taylor Lyons, and Emily Reynolds.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at 12:00 pm at the family residence at 1042 Turnstone Way Oceanside, California.
Mr. Hazlett's final resting place will be at Eternal Hills Memorial Park in Oceanside, California
