Iolanda Iacobelli

Iolanda was born on May 28, 1931 in Detroit, MI to the late Michele and Antoinette Iacobelli.

Iolanda married Isidoro Iacobelli on June 28, 1958 in Frosinone Italy and they had 3 children. She is preceded in death by her husband, Isidoro, her son, Eugene, and her newborn daughter, Mary. She is survived by her daughter, Claudia Iacobelli, her brother, Mario Iacobelli (Jane) and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Iolanda and Isidoro moved their family to Vista, CA in 1977. They were immediately embraced by the large American-Italian community of Vista where lifelong friendships were formed.

Iolanda retired from the billing dept. at Tri-City Medical Center in 1999 after 20 years of exemplary service.

Despite experiencing several health challenges in her later years, including recurrent cancer and blindness, Iolanda was known for her strong faith, dry sense of humor, and extreme generosity. She enjoyed cooking and collecting recipes and kitchen gadgets. She was proud of her Italian heritage and was compassionate towards animals, especially her "granddogs" Bianca and Giselle.

She will be deeply missed by her surviving family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church on Saturday, May 13, 2017, beginning at 9am.

In lieu of flowers, the Iacobelli family requests donations to be made to St. Thomas More Catholic Church in honor of Iolanda Iacobelli.
