James Allan Kitchens II

To describe somebody like James is nearly impossible. He lived a life of no regrets and full of love. You could always find him outdoors, whether it was fishing, surfing, traveling, camping or playing sports. His compassion and zest for life were immeasurable.

Growing up, Jimmy was an outgoing child with a carefree attitude that carried into adulthood. Being born and raised in Oceanside, Jimmy was an active child playing in all youth sports including Oceanside Valley Little League and Oceanside Pop Warner. His favorite was playing baseball alongside his two brothers with his father as his coach. As a teenager, Jimmy became interested in skateboarding and surfing in which he excelled at both. He attended Vista High School where he played football, basketball, and tennis. After graduating, he continued his education at Palomar College and became a certified Construction Inspector. He began working for a government contracted company that let him fulfill his love of traveling.

Not only was Jimmy smart and athletic, he was a man of many attributes. He always made sure his friends and family were taken care of. His friends would describe him as the guy who could make a friend no matter where he went. His bright blue eyes and contagious smile made anybody in his presence feel like they had always known him. He was the friend you could count on for anything. He was caring, honest, energetic, and extremely trustworthy. Jimmy also had an amazing and dedicated faith in God. He would share his love for the lord with anyone who would listen.

Jimmy was also a deep believer in family. He loved them dearly. To his parents, Jimmy was the first-born and a very strong-willed child who always kept them on their toes. To his brothers, he was their best friend and somebody they could always turn to. To his sister, he was her protector and the person she can always be goofy with. Jimmy was given the honor of being the Best Man at his brother Wayde’s wedding in January where he gave a speech about perseverance and that no matter what life throws your way, love and perseverance will get you through it.

There are many ways to describe how Jimmy lived his life and who he was but the impact he left behind cannot be put into words, it can only be felt. His spirit and memory will live forever within all those who loved him.
