While Jane led an extraordinary life, full of inspiration, splendor, and achievement, she always professed that her greatest accomplishment was raising her two marvelous boys. She is lovingly remembered by her sons Timothy A. Undheim of Oceanside, CA and Robert N. Undheim of Vista, CA; grandchildren Danielle L. Undheim of Des Moines, IA, Natasha E. Undheim of San Marcos, CA, and Dane R. Undheim of Vista, CA ; sister Patricia Duran of Hartford, MI.
Jane was born in Panama City, Florida to John Kendal Caswell and Helen Jane Meyers on November 3, 1936. She is preceded in death by her birth mother, father, adoptive parents Earl & Hazel Dobbins of Vista, CA, brother John S. Coates of Memphis, TN, and second husband Lewis Johnson of Vista.
Jane graduated from Vista High School and remained a caring homemaker the whole of her life. She was involved early on with the fraternal organization Sons of Norway where she met her husband to be, father of her children, Njal N. Undheim, who had immigrated to the United States from Norway.
Jane always loved music, especially the classics. She was a brilliant pianist with a timeless and classical touch whose melodic compositions seemed to transcend the boundaries of our earthly tether.
Jane loved to talk and her abundance for life that exuded from her very being illuminated all who knew her. All those who were lucky enough to know her, felt the amplitude of her virtue and generous character. She was full of wisdom, full of humor, and her counsel was sound. Surely every person she ever met was made to feel as though they were her best friend.
While Jane’s journey through life has ended on this earth, she now walks among the stars and resides with her long lost mother, Helen. She will be sorely missed, but her legacy will continue.
