Marilyn graduated from Northern Colorado University in 1975 with a degree in elementary education. She had various careers during her life. These included bus driver, teacher, real estate agent and a consultant for the military commissary stores.
Marilyn was very involved in her retirement community. She participated in several committees at Oceana and made many friends.
She is survived by her sister Janet, daughter Vickie (David) Driver, son Rick (Michelle) Brown, who will never forget the love and sacrifices she made for her kids.
She was a wonderful grandmother to Zachary Brown, Nathan Driver, Samantha (Spencer) Davis and Emily (Brandon) Weinreb. She loved her great grandson’s Theodore and Calvin Davis and always enjoyed the stories about what they were doing.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her mother Pauline, father Walter and sisters Kathy and Margie.
The family would like to thank the caregivers at Pacifica House for the compassion they showed in her final days.
Per her wishes Marilyn will be cremated and her remains will live forever in the mountains of Colorado. To honor her a celebration of life will be held this summer in California.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Marilyn’s name to Helen Woodward Animal Center, PO Box 64, Rancho Santa Fe, CA 92067.
