Mary Jane Stepp

14 December, 1932 – 3 June, 2020
IN THE CARE OF

Eternal Hills Mortuary & Crematory at Eternal Hills Memorial Park

Mary Jane Stepp was called to be with our Lord on June 3, 2020 at the age of 87.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband William Stepp and daughter Mary Keeland-Hollins, her parents and six sisters. She is survived by her children; Tom Gorbea of Memphis, TN; Joe Gorbea (Millie) of Hana, HI; Jean Clute Pena (Roland) of Bulverde, TX; stepchildren William Stepp Jr. (Connie) of Tiffin, OH; Luella Zion (Mike) of Ft. Wayne, IN; 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary was born on December 14, 1932 in Washington, DC to Katherine and William Messink. She married William Stepp in Washington, DC in 1955. After her husband’s military retirement in 1968 they moved to Oceanside, California where she resided until 2014. During this time she raised her family and worked in the food industry. In 2014, she moved to San Antonio, Texas to be near her daughter and grandson to continue her retirement.

Mary lived life to the fullest. She will be remembered for her compassion, generosity and love for her family. Traveling to visit her family took her all over the United States. Her family was her passion; she loved being around her kids, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Special thanks to Brookedale and The William Assisted Living/Memory Care in San Antonio, TX for the independence, care and respect they provided her since 2014 and to Elysian Hospice for their care and compassion during her final days.
