Norma Jeanne Henderson passed away on June 18, 2014 in Carlsbad, CA. Norma was born in Pomona, CA on April 13, 1928 to Ellsworth and Thelma DeYoung. Norma attended schools in Los Angeles and Chino and graduated from USC with a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism in 1951. In 1953 Norma married Sgt. Stacy James Henderson, USMC. They went on to have four children. Norma taught school for nearly 40 years, her last twenty in the Carlsbad Unified School District. Norma was preceded in death by her oldest son Michael, her parents, and her husband of 60 years, Stacy. Norma is survived by her son Stacy N. Henderson of Oceanside, her daughters Margaret J. Henderson of McKinney, TX, and Rebecca Befort and her husband Tom of Visalia, CA. Grandchildren, Ellie Nielsen, John Henderson, Willis Cooley, Raymond Cooley, Leanne Dunn and Cara Befort, and 3 great grandchildren. Graveside service will be 2:30 p.m. on Saturday June 28 at Eternal Hills in Oceanside, CA.
