And as I thought about that, I asked what are 10 things I remember about Pamela, and that others likely knew about her as well, so here are 10 things I think we will all remember about Pamela Jo Ciano.
Stylish ,Educated, Opinionated, Leadership,
Tech savvy, Business savvy, Giving,
Creative, Spiritual, and her smile.
-Stylish. No matter The occasion or what was going on, she always wanted to look her best, even when it wasn’t as easy for her she was always getting her hair done, her nails, and nobody owned more shoes and purses with an address outside of Beverly Hills,I guarantee it!
Pamela took pride in her appearance and people always complemented her on how she dressed and I think that was a point of pride for her... and she’d be smiling knowing we are making mention of it. She’d say it was her “Italian side”.
-Educated. Though she didn’t have a big time degree from a big time university, she always sought out knowledge and challenged herself to know more, to understand more, and despite her political and religious beliefs, she was never closed off to other trains of thought. As her son Brian recalled once “mom why do you watch CNN fake news?” She replied “because I like to hear both sides and formulate my own opinions!”
-Opinionated. Anyone who knew Pamela, knew she didn’t mince her words, nor did she let anyone roll over her. For better or worse, one thing you always knew was how she felt. If Pamela cared for you, she wouldn’t hold a grudge, but rather tell you how she felt and work towards a compromise so that all parties left satisfied in whatever trivial matter it was born from.
-Leadership. One thing about Pamela,
she was always a leader and marched to the beat of her own drum. She was always willing to help out others, organize and host events for people, and she really loved to give, wether knitting hats for babies to donate for hospitals or organizing and assisting food drives for the homeless, she really took pride in helping others and felt good giving back and offering whatever skills she had to get a project off the ground and maintained.
-Tech Savvy. Many people from her generation really struggle with all of the advances in technology from computers to smart phones and tablets, Pamela had them all and operated them all with relative ease. She loved all of that stuff, and she was mostly self taught, again she was a leader and educated so she wanted to stay on top of these things and wasn’t afraid of messing up something. Her philosophy was, if someone else like me can do this, so can I. And she really enjoyed the way technology could make your life easier and embraced it.
-Business Savvy. Pamela was very organized and meticulous, she was always researching ways to maximize her income and invest to make the most of what she had. While she loved to shop, she was always careful and mindful of the greater picture, that was her children and grand children and made sure she could provide for everyone and not just herself.
-Giving. Pamela is survived by her Sons Brian and Jonathan and her daughter Kala. Brian is her son by birth, and she had another birth son (her eldest) Paul whom unfortunately passed away late last year. Pamela always made sure all of her children were taken care of. She may not have showered you with gifts or frivolous spending sprees, but you knew if your back was against the wall and you needed her, she was there for you. later in life when Pamela’s birth children were grown and beginning their own lives, she decided to fulfill a lifelong dream she had, which was a responsibility many are unable or unwilling to do and that dream was to adopt children in need of a loving home, and she did just that and did it to the best of her ability, and a fine job she did.
-Creative. Anyone who knows Pamela well knows about her style, we spoke about that in the beginning and it cascaded far beyond her clothing. She had an amazing eye for detail, and was really passionate about decorating, scrap booking and many other artistic passions. While she wasn’t much of a musician herself, her Son Jonathan was, and she encouraged him to pursue that because she understood the passion behind the love. Pamela always maintained a beautiful home and really loved to decorate for every holiday, it was a big part of who she was.
-Spiritual. While Pamela has always been a religious woman, I believe her relationship with god took on an even stronger bond with the sudden passing of her own mother in the late 90’s. She became more active than ever after that and maintained a very active role in her church for the duration of her life. There’s no doubt in my mind that if we have groups such as valedictorians or honor role students here on earth with higher education, that if there’s a similar upper echelon of people in regards to people of faith, she’s certainly in that class. Without a doubt if Heaven has a red carpet she’s walked it along side her angels to heaven!
-Her Smile. Many people are known for one thing or another by many people, and I think without a doubt everyone who knows Pamela would tell you, not only was she always smiling, but what a beautiful smile she had. Certain people smile not only with their mouth but their entire face seems to smile, from their eyes to the glow they emit from the cheerfulness you can tell is emanating from within their soul. Everyone who knew Pamela knows what I’m talking about, she was a very happy woman and made others feel good inside by sharing that smile with them.
Maybe there are things you remember about her that you didn’t hear on this list and that’s the beauty of this, that you had your own incredible connections with her and can remember her in your own special way, while also getting to hear how some others also will remember her.
