

Thomas Alonzo Thornton, 89, passed away on Wednesday, March 4th 2020 at his home. A veteran of World War II, Korea and Vietnam Wars. Tom has joined his U.S. Marine Corps brothers who fell before him and has been reunited with love ones who have passed
Tom was born October 2, 1930 in Drew, Mississippi. He retired from the USMC after 21 years of service to his country. He worked for 22 years as a Civil Service Employee on Camp Pendleton where he was a supervisor in Motor Transport, responsible for all vehicle maintenance on base.
Tom married Sylvia Anderson on October 13, 1948, they later divorced in in late 1949. Tom then married Elmira Oursso on January 11, 1950 and they were married for 22 years. Tom met and fell in love with Shizuko (Susie) Dillion, they married on February 28, 1981 and they were married for 37 years before her passing on September 4, 2018.
Tom is survived by his daughter Carolin Lhamon (Ken) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Sheila Delaura (Ernest) of East Hartford, Connecticut, Pat Spurill of Cottondale, Alabama, Randall Thornton (Peggy) of Clifton, Colorado, many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Alonzo F. Thornton & Annice Thornton, Son Thomas Thornton Jr. , Son Michael Thornton, Daughter Deborah Thornton, & Daughter Elizabeth Faye Jacquemin
