Tom attended schools in San Antonio Texas. Tom's first job was working at St Anthony Hotel in San Antonio in 1946, he then went to work for the Cornwell & Logan Appliance Co October 1946, and then worked for the Alamo Baking Co.
Tom joined the military in April of 1948, he served for 21 years in the marine corp. While in the military he was in many military camps. Naval Base Coronado, San Diego, Camp Pendleton, Philippines, Colorado, San Jose. He served in Korea from 1952 to 1953, Vietnam from 1965 to 1966. He was awarded the purple heart while wounded in combat while serving in Vietnam. He also served in many combat positions: aerial machine gunner, rifle shooter, combat cargo loader. His last military assignment was as an instructor for marines.
After retiring from the military he obtained a franchise for a 7-11 store. In the 1970s
he was hired at the state unemployment dept, he worked there for 21 years.
Tom enjoyed watching football, he liked to read, and he loved to dance to Tex-Mex music
Tom was an honorable man, caring, patient, loving, always grateful for what he had. He could always make you smile with one of his jokes. He will be greatly missed.
