Wayne H Elliott

Wayne H Elliott, 96 passed away peacefully January 1, 2018. Wayne was the 2nd of 5 boys born to Fern Benjamin and Gladys Evans Elliott. Born October 4th, 1921 in Dawn, Missouri. Wayne has been a resident of Vista, California for the past 45 years.

Wayne enlisted in military service in 1939 and served in the 2nd and 9th Army Air Force. Wayne received his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1950 from the University of Missouri. While working at A.P. Green in Mexico, Missouri he met his loving wife of over 50 years, Winifred Grainger Elliott. The family lived in Missouri, New Jersey and Cooperstown, New York before moving to California in 1969.

Wayne is survived by three brothers, Jay (Lois) Elliott, Lowell (Joann) Elliott, Ed (Martha) Elliott; sons, Gary (Jennifer) Stone Elliott and Byron Evans Elliott; Grandson Ben (Sara) Elliott and Granddaughter Juliana Elliott; four Great Grandchildren Isaiah, Denali, Tosh and Jedrek; and numerous nieces and nephews. Wayne was preceded in death by his wife Winifred, son David and brother Floyd.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas DOU unit for their professional and compassionate care of Wayne during his final days.

Funeral services will be held Saturday January 13, 2018 at 10:00 am at the First Presbyterian Church of Oceanside 2001 S. El Camino Real Oceanside, California 92054
