

Arline Y. Middlemiss, of the Stone Church Road in Ogdensburg, NY, passed away on February 22, 2024, at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center. She was born on May 18, 1936, in Massena, NY, the daughter of Arnold and Dorothy (Rowley) Fetterly.
There will be a graveside service held in the spring at the Stone Church Cemetery, Ogdensburg.
Arline is survived by her children; Russell Middlemiss of Utica, Clinton Middlemiss of Lisbon, Paul Middlemiss of Ogdensburg, Audie Middlemiss of Massena, Warren Middlemiss of Plattsburgh, Deborah Whitehill of Canton, Wanda Snickels of Ogdensburg, Emily Mallory of Madrid, and Dorothy Middlemiss of Ogdensburg. She is also survived by her brother, Barry Fetterly of Potsdam; a sister, Phyllis Corthup of Kansas; 18 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Francis Middlemiss in 1991, a son, Malcom Middlemiss, foster daughter, Robin Harris, two brothers, Larry and Arnold Fetterly, and two sister Lois Fetterly and Louise Coughlin.
Arline dedicated her life to service, working as a prep cook at Burger King in Ogdensburg and volunteering with the City of Ogdensburg Police Department and St. Lawrence County Sheriff's Department. She also served as the president of REACT for three years, a member of the Red Hat Society, Sunshine Girls Club and Ladies of Stone Church demonstrating her commitment to her community.
In her leisure time, Arline enjoyed knitting, reading, engaging in acts of kindness for others, and traveling.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to The Presbyterian Stone Church or the St. Lawrence Valley SPCA, reflecting Arline's passion for both her faith community and her love for animals.
Arline Middlemiss will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, service, and love. May she rest in peace.
