Donald C. Gilbo Sr.

A Memorial Service for Donald C. Gilbo Sr., age 54 of Ogdensburg NY will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday (October 31, 2015) at the First Congregational Church of Brier Hill with Pastor David Sheppard officiating. There will be no public calling hours. Mr. Gilbo passed away on Wednesday (Oct 28, 2015) at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

Surviving is his mother Viola Richard of Hammond; his wife and partner of 34 years Ellen Gilbo of Ogdensburg; a son Donald (Brittany) Gilbo Jr., of Ogdensburg; two daughters Stacy (David) Wynn of NC and Jennifer (Sidney) Hollace of TX; nine brothers Harold (Beverly) Richard Jr. of CA, Howard Richard of Brier Hill, Robert (Connie) Richard of Hammond, John Gilbo of Hammond, Peter (Sally) Gilbo of Russell, Harold (Jen) Richard Jr. of Brier Hill, Albert (Laura) Richard of Brier Hill, Paul Richard of CA and Victor Richard of Redwood; two sisters Irene (Milton) Marcellus and Patricia Richard-Smith both of Redwood; twelve grandchildren Ryan, Tyler, Brittney, Corey, Hannah, Mackenzie, Jasmine, Donald III, Cristian, Zander, Blake & Kaylie.

His father Harold Richard and a granddaughter Emily Wynn predeceased him.

Donald was born on May 19, 1961 in Ogdensburg NY, a son of Harold & Viola (Horton) Richard. He attended Heuvelton Central for his education and later married Ellen Meunier on Sept 19, 1998 in Ogdensburg. He was a self-employed heavy equipment operator, carpenter/cabinet maker and mechanic throughout his career until 2013 when he suffered from failing health.

He enjoyed working, 4-wheeling, riding snowmobiles, winter sports, spending time with grandchildren, and was loved by all his friends, especially Jerry & Michelle.
