

Funeral services for Dorothy A. Duvall, age 87 of Ogdensburg, will be held privately for her family on Tuesday (Feb 6, 2018) at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home. Burial will be in the spring at White Church Cemetery in Lisbon.
Dorothy passed away on Sunday morning (Feb 4, 2018) at the St. Joseph’s Home surrounded by her loving family.
Surviving are her children Judith Newtown & her husband Thomas of Ogdensburg, Lester Duvall Jr & his companion Linda Compo of Ogdensburg, Hon. Roger Duvall of Theresa, Debra Crayford of Heuvelton and Douglas Duvall of Ogdensburg; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a brother David “George” Perkins of Ogdensburg and sister Cathy David of Ogdensburg.
She was predeceased by her parents Howard & Rose Perkins; a daughter Terry Lynn Duvall; a brother Howard Perkins; grandchildren Scott Ormsbee and Jodi Klownoski and great-grandchildren Sagelyn & Gracie Duvall and her former husband Lester M. Duvall.
Dorothy was born on July 9, 1930 in Lisbon NY, the daughter of Howard C. and Rose A. (Curry) Perkins. She graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy and later married Lester M. Duvall on Dec 18, 1948. During her career she was employed at J.J. Newberry’s, General Electric in Syracuse, Newell Manufacturing, Agway Inc. and later at the Ogdensburg Journal as a typist until age 74. She retired in 2005.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Ogdensburg and former member of the Rensselaer Falls Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Dorothy enjoyed spending time playing bingo, watching the NY Mets, bowling and spending time with her family.
