My deepest condolences to your family. Mrs. Turner was a wonderful neighbor to me and my mother for many years and we both have missed her since she left. I'll always remember eating berries from her back yard (whether I was supposed to or not!) and her sitting on her poach with her goose out front.

My mother misses sitting and talking with her on the porch whenever she would ask how my mother was doing - that was her signal to go across the street for a chat.

Our deepest and most heartfelt condolences go out to each and every one of Dorothy's family members. As many of her family knows, she was our neighbor for over 20 years and we could not have asked for a better person as our nextdoor neighbor during the time she lived there!!! We could not be more delighted to have her grandson and his fiance now residing in her home, carrying on her legacy. Dorothy was a generous, thoughtful and very caring woman giving of herself to both family and friends alike. Every birthday we had, she made sure to bake a mulberry pie or send over a cake with a sweet card attached on our special day and she shared that thoughtfulness with other neighbors close by, too. During Thanksgiving and Christmas, she once again gave of herself with a small thoughtful gift of the heart and/or a plate of cookies or pie. Each holiday or change of season, she would dress up the life size ceramic goose she had sitting on her front porch in a whimsical outfit fitting for the occasion. Today, to our delight, that wonderful tradition is being carried out by her grandson and his fiance. Sitting on her front porch to chat for awhile was always a favorite pastime in the summer. She loved her family so much and was so very proud of each and every one of you!!! May joyful and fond memories help you through this difficult time and reside in all of your hearts to carry you through all the years to come. We loved her and will always miss herllll. ♡♡♡  Steve, Melinda and Gus, our cat that she enjoyed and would chat with when he went over to visit. 

I was pleased to see the wonderful picture of Dorothy, Durwood, and my parents, Ruth and Carl,  posted on the tribute wall.  They made many precious memories together over the years, and helped each other through some tough times. Sorry to hear this sad news. As l was recently cleaning out my mother's house l found newspaper clippings of your parent's engagement and wedding, you might remember that Jean was their maid of honor. They were close cousins and now they're in heaven together.  Kathy

I have been honored to be one of Dorothy’s caregivers at LCS2. She was such a warm and loving woman. Time spent just sitting with her holding her hand and listening to whatever she had to say at the time will never be forgotten. It is with a sad heart I wasn’t able to be with her at the end... I have covid. I know in my heart she earned her wings and is looking down on us all as we all deal with the world we are living in. May you all find peace in knowing she is in a better place. So sorry to hear about Aunt Dorothy. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time. Aunt Dorthy was very special-I remember when she put a photo album together for me and stopped by St. Joseph's Home that had pictures of her and dad's brother and sisters & mom & dad-and then I in return made one for dad. I will miss all the birthday cards she would send me every year with a little note just saying" have a nice day". She will be missed .

I remember spending a few days every summer with David, Lynn, and Kevin.  Dorothy was my closest 1st cousin.  I still make her dinner rolls, and remember her hooked rugs, washing the baseboards, and just being family with the Turners for those times.  
When she learned I was working on the family genealogy, she started sending me letters in birthday and Christmas cards that kept me up to date with my Northern New York Cousins.  She sent me $20 when we went to Ireland to have a drink on her.  Great Lady, there is a gap in our lives now that she is gone.

So sorry to hear of the loss of your mom. She was such a lovely lady. My thoughts and prayers are with you. 


I am sorry to hear of the passing of Dorothy.  She was my neighbor when I was growing up on the Old State Rd in Rensselaer Falls, NY.
She will be missed by many.
