

Mr. James Frisina age 78 of Ogdensburg, passed away on December 4, 2023, in Syracuse, NY surrounded by his loving family. No services will be held at this time. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Fox & Murray Funeral Home.
Mr. Frisina was born on December 31, 1944, the son of Anthony F. (Tony) and Marion C. (Gallipeau) Frisina. He was the youngest of thirteen children born to his parents. He was predeceased by his parents, twelve older siblings, along with his son, James J. Frisina.
He is survived by his wife Anne E. (Mahoney) Frisina; one child, a daughter Krista (Karl) Frisina Kanzenbach of Ogdensburg; his two grandchildren, AnnaBella Maria Frisina and Christopher James “CJ” (Alicia) Frisina; his great grandchildren, Sunny-Ann Sophia Frisina, Charlie Bradish, and Jocelynn French; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Frisina attended Ogdensburg Free Academy, graduating in June 1963. He attended SUNY Canton and SUNY Albany, receiving his associate and bachelor’s Degrees. He then attended St. Lawrence University, receiving his master’s degree.
Mr. Frisina went to work for the St. Lawrence County Department of Social Services on March 13, 1968, as a Caseworker. After that, he transferred to the St. Lawrence County Probation Department as a Senior Probation Officer first working as a Family Services Counselor; then as a Criminal Investigator; and later as County Court Supervisor for 19 years, retiring on May 25, 2001.
While employed for St. Lawrence County, Mr. Frisina was an active member of The Civil Service Employees Association, being a past officer in the local chapter and on the local Negotiating team and Audit Committee. He was a member of the Retiree Chapter.
He then worked part time for Fox and Murray Ambulette, at Foxwood Mausoleum, and for Mort Backus and Sons.
Mr. Frisina was a past member of the Ogdensburg Jaycees, Ogdensburg Volunteer Rescue Squad, Ogdensburg Moose Lodge, Ogdensburg Masonic Lodge, Life Member of The Knights of Columbus, and Life Member of The Ogdensburg Elks Lodge #772. He was also a Past Exalted Ruler of Ogdensburg Elks Lodge and Past State Trustee of The New York State Elks Association.
Mr. Frisina was a communicant of St. Mary's Cathedral.
