Janet G. LaPlante

A Funeral Mass for Janet G. LaPlante, age 73 of Brier Hill, NY will be held 10:00am on Monday (June 3, 2013) at St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church in Morristown with Rev. Jay Seymour officiating. Interment will follow the service at Foxwood Memorial Park.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 4-7pm at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home. Mrs. LaPlante passed away at her home on Wednesday (May 29, 2013) while under the care of her family and Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley.

Surviving is her husband Raymond; three sons Steven LaPlante of Schenectady, NY, David LaPlante & his wife Karen of Rochester, Raymond LaPlante of Saranac Lake; a daughter Debra LaPlante of Duane, NY; brothers Eugene Thivierge & his wife Pat of Hammond, Leo Thivierge of Washington; six grandchildren Trevor LaPlante & his wife Katelyn, Clarissa, Emilia, Celia, Adelaide & Timothy LaPlante along with many nieces, nephews & cousins.

Janet’s siblings Philip, Marcel, Harold & Carl Thivierge, Laura Finley and Caroline Thivierge predeceased her.

Janet was born on February 5, 1940 in the Town of Oswegatchie, a daughter of Jerry & Myrtle (Finley) Thivierge. After graduation from Morristown Central School in 1957, she married Raymond R. LaPlante. Janet was employed as a teacher’s aide for 30+ years with Morristown Central School, and was a active member of St. John’s Alter & Rosary Society and Parish Council. She enjoyed gardening, church activities, traveling and spending time with her family.
