

Funeral services for Jeanne L. LaBrake, 85, of Lisbon, will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Philip & James Catholic Church in Lisbon, with Rev. Kevin O’Brien officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the Mass from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
Jeanne passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, May 19, 2026, at St. Joseph’s Home.
Jeanne is survived by her beloved husband, Neil, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and devotion for nearly 68 years. She is also survived by her children: Neil (Marie) LaBrake Jr. of Baldwinsville, NY, Claudine (Scott) Dixon of Hemlock Lake, NY, and Daniele (Robert) D’Aquila of Brevard, NC. She leaves behind a cherished legacy in her grandchildren: Neil LaBrake III, Daniel LaBrake, Kassandra (Zach) DeLee, Nickolas (Lauren) Dixon, Dominic (Alyssa) D’Aquila, and Luke (Sarah) D’Aquila, along with several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense pride and joy.
Born on May 12, 1941, in Royan, France, Jeanne was the daughter of the late Henri and Lucienne (Witt) Lucazeau. She received her education in France before moving to the United States, where she pursued her calling in nursing, earning her Licensed Practical Nursing degree from BOCES in Ogdensburg.
Jeanne dedicated nearly four decades of her life to caring for others as a nurse at St. Joseph’s Nursing Home in Ogdensburg, beginning in 1968. Even after retiring in 2007, her deep compassion and sense of purpose drew her back, and she faithfully continued her work for another seven years. Nursing was not just her profession—it was her calling, and she touched countless lives with her kindness, patience, and unwavering dedication.
Outside of her work, Jeanne found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved tending to her garden, reading, shopping, and baking for those she loved . She will especially be remembered for “Grandma’s cookies”! Above all, she treasured time spent with her family, who were the center of her world.
Jeanne will be remembered for her gentle spirit, warm heart, and selfless nature. Her kindness and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
