

Calling hours will be held on Thursday (December 28, 2023) at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home from 2:00pm to 6:00pm. A celebration of Josh’s life will follow at the Ogdensburg Bowling Alley.
Surviving are his parents Slip (Kelly) Amo and Sandra Thornhill of Ogdensburg; a brother Wes (Sara) McDonald; sisters Erin (Jim) Bechtel and Jenna Amo of Ogdensburg; paternal grandmother Virginia Amo of Ogdensburg; uncles Jim (Kate) Amo of Ogdensburg, Kenny (Denise) Amo of Michigan and Jack Amo of Ogdensburg; an aunt Kim Skelly of Syracuse; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
His paternal grandfather Francis ; maternal grandparents Bertha Deselems and Jack Warren and an uncle Pete Amo predeceased him.
Josh was born on October 6, 1976 in Ogdensburg, a son of Slip Amo & Sandra (Warren) Thornhill. He graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy and continued his education at SUNY Canton where he obtained an associate’s degree in accounting.
During his career he worked for Duke’s Root Control, a prepcook for area restaurants, became the owner and operator of the Seaway Valley Jumpers from 2012 until 2020. Most recently he was employed by Adirondack Medical Transportation Services as a medical transport driver.
Josh enjoyed watching wrestling and horror movies, socializing with friends at the bowling alley, playing with his nieces & nephews, being a food critic, fishing and spending time with his family. He was also a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
