Juanita J. Harper

Funeral services for Juanita J. Harper age 71, of 8103 State Hwy 68 Ogdensburg, will be held on Wednesday (Feb 9, 2011) at 2:00pm at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Rev. Walter Smith officiating. Entombment will be at Foxwood Memorial Park.

There will be no public calling hours. Mrs. Harper died Sunday (Feb 6, 2011) at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center surrounded by her family.

Surviving is a son Randy Harper & his companion Carol Richter of Ogdensburg; two daughters Sandra Mussen of Ogdensburg & Tammy LaFlair & her husband William of Ogdensburg; a sister Helen Thomas of Canton; a brother Robert Kerr & his wife Alice of Lisbon; 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews & cousins.

Juanita was born on June 22, 1939 in Lisbon, NY a daughter of the late Edwin & Ada (Perry) Kerr. She attended Lisbon Central School for her education, and married Allen Harper on June 13, 1959. He predeceased her on Oct 20, 1990.

Her working career began in retail until transferring to Newell Manufacturing where she worked until 1991. She then became employed at the Community Resource Center in Ogdensburg until her retirement. She was a member of the The First Congregational and First Presbyterian Churches in Ogdensburg and enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, walking, puzzles, boating and spending time with her children & grandchildren.

Memorial contributions have been requested to the Richard E. Winter Cancer Center.
