Robert J. Salton

Funeral services for Robert J. Salton, age 76 of Jay Street in Ogdensburg will be held at 10:00am on Thursday (Dec 3, 2015) at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Rev. Walter Smith officiating. Burial with military honors will follow the service at White Church Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday (Dec 2, 2015) from 4:00-6:00pm at the Funeral Home. Mr. Salton passed away on Thursday (Nov 26, 2015) at his home with his family by his side.

Surviving is his daughter Lori (Greg) Sharland; a brother Bernard Salton; grandchildren Brittany (Jacob) Thornton & Brandy Sharland; great-granddaughter Blaire Thornton; step-mother Doris Salton all of Ogdensburg, along with several nieces nephews & cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents Violet & Raymond, his wife Lucy, and a son Randy Salton.

Bob was born on March 11, 1939 in Brentwood NY, a son of the late Raymond & Violet (Hargrave) Salton. He graduated from OFA in 1956, and entered the US Airforce from 1962 – 1964. He later married Lucy Perry on September 2, 1964. In 1963 he began his career as a social worker at the Rockland State Hospital and later relocated to the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center until 1995 when he retired. He enjoyed bowling, gardening, crossword puzzles, camping, cooking, lawn care and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
