

Rona “Roni” L. LaComb, a kind and caring woman, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on January 7, 2025, at the age of 84. Roni was a resident of Portside Grande Dunes in Myrtle Beach, SC and, formerly, of Ogdensburg, NY.
She was born on December 5, 1940, to Theodore and Helen (Steinburg) Lesperance. She attended Ogdensburg Free Academy. She married Paul Michael Fennessy, Sr. on August 17, 1957. Their marriage ended in divorce. She later found love again with Erle S. LaComb, whom she married on June 5, 1972. He predeceased her on April 19, 2017.
Surviving are her children Paul Michael (Maureen) Fennessy, Jr. of Myrtle Beach, SC, Randall L. Fennessy of Liverpool, NY, and Amy R. (Kevin) Nugent of Ogdensburg, NY, 14 grandchildren, Jill (Jesse) Vaugh, Michael (Melissa) Fennessy, Jay (Kristie) Fennessy, Brandin Fennessy, Brittany (Kyle) Rafferty, Thadd (Pamela) Arquitt, Alexis Fennessy (Maksim Parfenovich), Erin Fennessy, DeAnna Fennessy, Jordan Fennessy, Mikeala (Dylan) Pickering, Christopher (Audrey) Bromley, Sophie and Ava Nugent, 19 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson, and one brother, Andrew Lesperance. She also leaves behind many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and close friends.
She is predeceased by one son, Robert “Bobby” A. Fennessy, one granddaughter, Cheslea L. Fennessy, and sisters, Mary Ann Lesperance and Neila Kay Torres.
Roni always said she was a “people person” so it only made sense that she made a career working in the restaurant and retail industry. Some favorite places were Mike’s Deli, The Brewery, Oscar’s, Abbey on the Mall, The Wharf, National Army Store, Farrand’s Flowers, Hackett’s True Value, Basta’s Flowers, and many, many more. She also worked at Notre Dame Church Rectory as the cook and housekeeper. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held from 9:00am to 11:00am on February 3, 2025 at Fox & Murray Funeral Home. The Memorial Mass will follow at 11:30am at Notre Dame Church with Reverend Joseph Morgan officiating and entombment at the Oswegatchie Mausoleum.
