A Memorial Service for Sandra “Sandy” Wayne White Jetke, age 72 of Ogdensburg, and formerly of Texas and California, will be held on Friday (July 5, 2019) at 11:00am at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Rev. Walter Smith officiating.
Calling hours will be held also on Friday July 5th from 10:00am until the time of the service at the funeral home. Sandy passed away peacefully on June 6, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse following a brief illness.
She is survived by her brothers Troy White, Michael Malone, Steve Craig and Cliff Craig; sisters Sharon Fruge, Susan Danelz and Mary Ann Osborn; her special friend Michael Ewart with whom she has resided with for many years; Michael’s family members; many friends and “buddies”, especially Rita Diane Johnson and Robin Tulip; along with numerous nieces and nephews throughout the county.
She was predeceased by her father and mother who predeceased her by one day; her first husband David Montague and second husband Russ Jetke.
Sandy was born on February 4, 1947 in Sacramento California, the daughter of Troy & Mary (McGee) White. She attended school in Crystoval, Texas. After graduation, sandy worked various jobs to include farming, apartment manager, painter, cook and most recently as the cook/banquet manager at the Ogdensburg Elks Club.
Sandy enjoyed her pets, watching football and other sports on television, old movies, listening to country music, art, pottery, time spent on the river and fishing. She had a special fondness for all things related to John Wayne. In fact, her middle name “Wayne” bestowed upon her by her parents at birth, was a tribute to the Duke. She will be remember for her sense of humor, her kind heart and her Texan drawl.
