She was born in Skiatook, Oklahoma on December 23, 1924. She graduated high school in Langley, Oklahoma. Her family then moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where she met and married JC Ducummon, Jr. They were married on September 14, 1947. While they lived in Tulsa 3 daughters were born to them. In 1957 they moved to Caney, Kansas where they lived until JC died in 1972.
After her husband died and her children grown, she moved back to Tulsa to be closer to her family. It was there that she met Harry Levites in church. They were married in 1976. While married to Harry she lived in Tulsa, OK, Las Vegas, Nevada, Sarasota, Florida and Owasso, OK before moving to Oklahoma City to be near her daughters. Harry Levites passed away in 2006.
In her later years Nettie moved into Tealridge Assisted Living Center where she lived until she passed away.Nettie was a very devote Christian who at one time worked for her church. She loved reading her bible and listening to sermons on tape. She was very active in the community in Caney while her daughters were in school. Nettie participated in the PTA and eventually served as President. She also helped with many fund-raising activities for the schools. Nettie loved bowling with a passion and participated in many leagues in her younger years. Later in life she even bowled on the Wii at the center.
She is survived by her daughters, Janet and her husband John Fry of Edmond, OK, and Margie Silvers of Tulsa. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 17 great-great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, Robert “Lee” Clements and Margaret “Maggie” Rose, her husbands, JC “Jay” Ducummon, Jr. and Harry Levites, her sisters, Florence Wilson and Wanda Reynolds, her daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Jack Simpson, her grandson, Scott Powell, and 2 great grandsons, Jarrett Simpson and Devon Carter.
Nettie will be interned at Rose Hill Mausoleum in Tulsa, OK with her first husband, Jay Ducummon. Because of the Covid 19 virus epidemic there will be no funeral. We will have a Celebration of Life for her when possible.
The family would like to thank the employees of Tealridge for the wonderful care she received there. Not only for the day to day care but also for the wonderful loving care that she received in her final days when her family could not be there during the epidemic.
