Dale Armor

Florence “Dale” Armor, 76, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away on April 11, 2026. She was born on May 22, 1949, in Oklahoma City, where she spent her life building deep connections with family, friends, and her community.

Dale graduated from John Marshall High School, attended the University of Oklahoma and went on to build a successful career in sales, working with ETD, Walker Companies, and Kaiser & Blair. She was known for her strong work ethic, warmth, and the genuine relationships she formed throughout her career.

On October 31, 1989, Dale married the love of her life, Bruce Edward Ellis. Though she had no children of her own, she embraced Bruce’s children as her own, becoming a devoted mother to Nick Ellis and Erin Meador, and a cherished “Grandma Dale” to Ethan Ellis, Collin Ellis, and Sterling Meador.

Dale will be remembered as a kind and generous soul who was always willing to help others in their time of need. She found great joy in staying active and social, enjoying bowling, golf, skiing, and card games. Her greatest passion was tennis, a sport she dedicated herself to for over 50 years. She began as a player and later contributed her time and leadership to league organization, coordination, and tournaments. She was a longtime member of Oklahoma City Business Builders and the OKC Tennis Association.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Truman and Pauline Armor, and her brother-in-law, Paul Gertsch.

Dale is survived by her loving husband, Bruce Ellis; her children, Nick Ellis and Erin Meador; her grandchildren, Ethan Ellis, Collin Ellis, and Sterling Meador; her siblings, Jerry Spencer and Jeanne Gertsch; as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

A service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on April 23, 2026, at Memorial Park Funeral Home (13313 N Kelley Ave, OKC, OK 73131). A celebration of life will follow on May 2, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the OKC Tennis Center.

Dale’s legacy of kindness, dedication, and love for others will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
