He was born in Gerga, Egypt on January 16, 1954. Dr. Emad Rafla Yacoub graduated from Tabrey Magnet High School with highest marks, and received his medical degree from Ain Shams University. He married Dr. Inas Zaki Yacoub in 1986 before moving with his family to the United States
Dr. Emad Yacoub worked as a medical doctor and epidemiologist with a Masters in Public Health, and went on to run a medical consulting company. He was a devoted member of the Coptic Orthodox Church, and had a relentless sense of humor, bottomless generosity, and a passion for lifelong learning, classical music, deep relationships, and quiet acts of public service.
He is the brother of the late Dr. Gamal Rafla Yacoub and Atef Rafla Jacoub. He is survived by his daughter Veronica Jacob and her spouse Michael Anthony Mendez. He is also survived by his spouse and her siblings, Wassim Ghali and Soheir Erian, and his brothers Dr. Hosni Yacoub, Magdy Yacoub, Guirguis Yacoub, and his sisters Mervat Barsoum, and Magda Ghali.
Funeral Service for Dr. Yacoub will be held 12:00pm, Saturday, June 21, 2025 at St. Demiana Coptic Orthodox Church, 3916 S Highland Park Dr, Oklahoma City, OK 73129. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, 13313 N Kelley Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73131.
