George was born in Ponca City, Oklahoma on October 8th, 1935 to parents Ralph and Lena Warner. He went on to graduate from Guthrie High School. During his time in school George met Carol Purviance, the two were high school sweethearts and were happily married on September 23rd, 1955 in Guthrie, Oklahoma. Following graduation George joined the Navy in September of 1954 and was honorably discharged in August of 1958. After his service in the military George pursued a career as an Electronic Tech for Tinker Air Force Base, retiring from his career with the FAA in 1993.
George had a passion for traveling. He was a “handy man” who could fix most anything and loved working in the yard. George enjoyed watching NASCAR, and loved to dance. He also greatly enjoyed taking his grandchildren on vacations. Above all else, he loved his family.
George is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph E. and Lena M. Warner.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Carol Warner; Children, Cindy Acebo and husband Richard, Tracy Bartlett and husband Miles; Grandchildren, Jarrod Bartlett and wife Lindsay, Tyler Bartlett, Shanlee Bartlett, Desiree Dunlavy and husband Ryne, and Harrison Acebo; Great-Grandchildren, Maddox, Brynee, Daxton, and Adley Bartlett, Macy and Jake Bartlett, Wyatt Dunlavy, and Shylah and Dayton Acebo; Siblings, David Warner and Martha Townsey; As well as many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held for George at 2:00 pm, Friday, August 26th, 2022 at Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Richard Acebo, Miles Bartlett, Jarrod Bartlett, Tyler Bartlett, Ryne Dunlavy and Harrison Acebo.
