

Born on January 18, 1936, in West Virginia to Jim and Mary Russo, Geraldine grew up with a deep love for family, faith, and learning. She graduated from Graham High School and carried the values of hard work and compassion with her throughout her life.
On July 18, 1953, she married the love of her life, Sydna “Syd” Reed. Together they built a life centered on devotion to one another and their family, sharing more than seven decades of marriage filled with steadfast love and partnership.
Geraldine dedicated her professional life to education, serving faithfully in local schools and touching the lives of countless students and colleagues. Her commitment to nurturing young minds was a reflection of her generous spirit and belief in the power of learning.
A devoted member of her local Baptist church, Geraldine’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. She had a special passion for music and found great joy in singing in local choirs, lifting her voice in praise and fellowship. Her warmth, kindness, and gentle encouragement will be remembered by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Mary Russo, and her five siblings.
Geraldine is survived by her beloved husband, Syd Reed; her daughter, Leanora (Reed) Anderegg and husband Clare Anderegg; her son, Lynn Reed and wife Vicki Reed; her grandchildren, Marie Adell (Anderegg) Renteria and husband AB Renteria, Robert C. Anderegg and wife Brittany Anderegg, and Christopher D. Reed and wife Parker Hulin Reed; and her great-grandchildren, Adell Macie McCrury and Amelia Dolores Renteria. Her legacy of love, faith, and dedication lives on in each of them.
A viewing will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on February 27, 2026, at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on February 28, 2026, also at the funeral home.
