She was my 2nd grade teacher a Millwood and I loved her. She was a beautiful lady. Sorry fir loss.

First of all, God bless everyone for your loss, what a beautiful lady!! I need to know did Mrs Cotton like to do pottery?? I may have something for the family, but I need to know if this was hers...

Special prayer to the family of one adorable elementary teacher I just loved. She was so full of joy and fun. Mrs. Cotton  knew how to talk to students without fussing , very gentle with her words, explain work so you can understand it, and make projects FUN ??. I loved my teacher. Wish we had more teachers like her in these days. These good memories will always be with me.

Mrs Cotton sent me plans on how to build a picnic table so I would have a place to sing!!  Never got around to building it tho.  Thank you for the memories and I'm sorry you had to eat my eggshell cake.  You brought joy to everyone!

It is hard to put into words the influence this special lady and family have had on my life.  From Sunday school to VBS to the overnight stays and summertime fun in the backyard this Godly woman showed God's love.  If ever anyone was born to be a teacher it was Mrs. Cotton.  She has loved and influenced thousands of young lives.  I love this sweet angel and my extended Cotton family.  Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers as you celebrate the life of one of God's best.

Gerti was generous, selfless, principled, and compassionate, and did the Lord's work throughout her journey on earth as a teacher, mother, and mentor.  I was blessed to have her touch my life, and she embodied everything I most admire and aspire to achieve – in short she was a great role model.  God's will was done.

Mrs Cotton was an AMAZING PERSON! She was my dad's teacher at Millwood, and she was my Sunday school teacher of how to live my life!
A song she used to lead us in was Father Abraham had many sons well, Mrs Cotton had many CHILDREN. Every child she came in contact with knew how she felt about GOD and where they would go if they believed!
Mrs Cotton made learning fun! Because of Mrs Cotton I know the books of the bible and what a CHRISTMAS TREE really means!

G Cotton what a great inspiration.  She was a teacher like no other.  Giving the students real life application at a young age.  She definitely will be missed but I can say she Will Never be forgotten.

Mrs Cotton was a sweetheart of a teacher at Millwood. I remember the ant farms and the hatching of chicken eggs in her classroom.  What a Blessed woman!  God Bless her many loved ones, friends and students.

Sorry to hear of your loss. Mrs. Cotton was my elementary teacher at Millwood. She could pinch you very hard in the nicest way to keep you in line !!! Sally, Tom....you guys are in my prayers.  Your mom was one reason why anyone who went to Millwood became family.

I am so blessed to have had this woman in my life, she was not only my teacher she always encouraged me when I had doubt. The gift of education, discipline,Love, is what I think of when her name comes up. I know I am not the only one,but she treated us like we were here own children.... I Love you Mrs Cotton an your assignment was fulfilled, your life made a difference in me and my family that were in your class. So sorry to hear about the loss of Mrs. Cotton.  She was my 4th grade teacher and she was just wonderful.  She was so nice and very dedicated to us, the students. She was a fixture at Millwood Schools for many years, as well as her children. Rest in Peace Mrs. Cotton. Thanks for your years of service in education. On behalf of me and my family (The Mr. and Mrs. Delmas Jackson, J.r family), the Cotton family will be in our thoughts and prayers.

Mrs. Cotton was truly one of a kind. Great and caring teacher at Millwood!!!

Gertie was such a blessing in my life from a very young age.  She signed my cradle roll diploma and was my teacher when I was in the nursery at Millwood.  When I was a baby parents kept their children home because of the polio scare but Mama knew Gertie would protect me with her life.  I loved the homemade Christmas presents we got each year and remember her as our Sunday School Superintendent and Teacher.  So many sweet memories.  When I was little I thought she had all those babies just for us to play with.  When I was older she gave me so much good advice and joy.  I thank God for putting her in our family.
