It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Berta Jeanne Foley Huchteman, who left this world on February 18, 2025, at the age of 90. She was born on May 25, 1934, in Elk City, Oklahoma, and lived a rich and fulfilling life in her beloved home state as well as a brief time in New Jersey and Texas. She grew up in Oklahoma City and graduated from Northeast High School. She furthered her education at the University of Oklahoma. On March 2, 1956, she married Martin Huchteman, with whom she shared a beautiful life until his passing.
Jeanne was a devoted stay-at-home mom and a willing and dependable taxi driver for her children and their friends. She had a passion for reading and researching anything related to medicine and health care. She was known for her friendly nature, never having met a stranger, and was a devout Christian who loved the Lord deeply and loved to study the Bible. She enjoyed traveling with Martin and was able to do so more after he retired. She had an insatiable passion for chatting with friends and indulging in desserts, particularly cookies and ice cream.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Thelma (Edge) Foley, and her loving husband, Martin. She is survived by her son, Stephen Huchteman (spouse: Janet), and her daughter, Karen Bernard (spouse: John). She was a cherished grandmother to Drew Bernard (spouse: Kate), Kristin Bernard Jones (spouse: Matt), Alex Huchteman, and Connor Huchteman, and a doting great-grandmother to Layla Jones, Liam Jones, Crosby Jones, and Daisy Bernard.
Jeanne’s warmth, love, and generosity touched the lives of many, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of kindness and devotion will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
The family would like to thank Cyndy, Karen, and Carl of Generations Home Care. Cyndy and Karen have gone above and beyond in their care for Jeanne. We would also like to thank Dr. Karen Ross, Chanda and the staff of Good Shepherd Hospice for their warm and compassionate support.
A small family graveside service will be held on February 24, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Memorial Park Cemetery, 13400 N Kelley Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73131.
