Our sweet mother Joan married Gordon Council and had Denise and Jeff. She then married I.B. Cagle and had 2 more children, Ted and Brian.
Joan had a long career in banking at Liberty National Bank where she received an award for outstanding and dedicated service. She enjoyed watching OU Sooner football, tennis and horse racing. She loved reading and camping. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo and potlucks with her friends at Pebble Creek where she resided before going to The Grand at Bethany Nursing Home.
She is survived by her children - Ted Cagle (Karen), Jeff Council (Elizabeth), sisters - Gaylyn Greiner and Dana Miller; grandchildren - Stacy, Johnny, Candice, Kimmy (Korey), Chris and Anthony (Renee); great-grandchildren - Gabriel, Summer, Kamryn, Jaxon and Lincoln; She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by Richard & Meretha Turpin (parents), Brian Cagle (son), Michael Combs (grandson), Denise Blackard (daughter) and Fred Turpin (brother).
We were blessed to have had such a wonderful, loving and caring mother. Our family would like to thank those who cared for her at The Grand in Bethany Nursing Home. We thank you with all our hearts.
A celebration of life will be held at 11am, Saturday, September 4th, 2021 at Memorial Park Cemetery’s historic cemetery chapel with an inurnment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
