Margaret Ann Boggs was born on March 22, 1930 , in Bluffton, Arkansas, to Wendell and Irene Rollans. Margaret went to be with the Lord on September 9, 2020. She was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church.

Margaret graduated from Putnam City High School in 1948. After high school she went to work for Bell Telephone Company as a telephone operator along with her sisters, Martha and Mary. Not long after, she met the love of her life, Donald Louis Boggs.

Margaret and Donald were married at St. Luke’s Methodist Church on August 1, 1954, and took up residence in Oklahoma City where they began their family. Margaret was blessed with three sons: James, Thomas, and Robert. She enjoyed many years of raising her children as a stay-at-home mother and being involved in their activities.

Margaret was blessed to work alongside her husband at the Credit Audit Bureau for a number of years. Margaret and Donald celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2004 in the company of their children and grandchildren.

Over the years, Margaret was very involved in her church and with the cub scouts as a den mother. She and Donald enjoyed square dancing and camping with the Hoot Owls Camping Club (Margaret loved owls). She was also very involved with the Putnam City High School Alumni Organization.

Margaret’s pastimes included bridge with the bridge club, and dominos and card games of all kinds with the family. She became an expert at sewing clothes for the boys and later sewing clothes for the granddaughters’ dolls. Margaret enjoyed knitting and needle point, which she was great at. Her needle point art work included the Boggs’ Coat of Arms, The Last Supper, and numerous Christmas ornaments that decorated the Boggs’ Christmas tree each year.

Margaret was preceded in death by the love of her life of 63 years, Donald, and leaves behind her three sons and their wives, nine grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.

Margaret’s accomplished life was an inspiration to many, and she will be missed by all.

Love you Mom!

I am very blessed to have had a loving and supportive mother. She was always there for me.
I’m sad that in the past six months I couldn’t go and see her any time I wanted. I couldn’t give her a hug and a kiss and say “I love you Mom”. I’ll miss asking her “how are you Mom?” And her responding “mean as ever”. Or asking “how do you feel Mom?” And hearing her say “with my fingers “. She always laughed after making those comments.
I know that she is with Jesus now, and I will see her again some day. Love you Mom.

Mom,
I know you’re with Jesus now, and all your pain and discomfort are gone. The list of special moments shared with you is very long. Your sense of humor always put a smile on my face, and your talents working with your hands were many and very special. I really miss you, but I know I will see you again. Love You, Mom!

She made the most amazing Cabbage Patch Kids clothing for me. One of my dolls even had a fabulous fur coat with matching hat. I loved camping with her, my grandpa, and the Hoot Owls. They would take me square dancing with them I’m sure I danced better as a child than I do now. I hope she and Grandpa are camping, dancing, cruising, and taking pictures of every moment together.

My memories of Margaret are of both Margaret along side of Don - they were quite the team. I got to spend time with them after my own parents had died & got lots of advice over lunch & dinner.
Margaret had such a great eye in her photography and she would sit & explain how she got such a shot, where the sun was to her, which lense she used. My one regret is that I never got to see Margaret and Don square dance - I could always tell by her enthusiasm how much fun Don and her were having.
Did I say that Margaret taught me how to play dominoes? My sincere condolences to Jim, Tom and Bob and their families in the loss of such a wonderful Mom. I adored both of your parents.

From Margaret & Don's special Swinging Rebel square dance friends, Loosen Christmas Party friend, Red River square dance trips, England Trips and everywhere in the U.S.. The Valentine photo has most of us together.
the year Margaret had the Black eye, Gene was diagnosed with Brain Cancer, Don had something wrong. Margaret said "things come in Three" and it wasn't going to be "Her".
Guess What!!!!!! she spoke too soon. It was Christmas and we took a picture of the "three wounded." Many, Many wonderful memories.

I had the privilege of having Margaret for a grandmother. I learned so much from her, including the value of family and being a strong woman. I'm incredibly grateful for all the lessons, all the fun, and most importantly... all the love.
