Mary "Michelle" Bratcher

She was born on Aug. 2, 1976, in Oklahoma City to Seth and Cindy Perry. She was the oldest of three girls. Michelle graduated from Edmond Memorial High School in 1994. She then earned her degree in education from the University of Oklahoma. She married Greg Bratcher on Feb. 28, 1998.

Michelle spent her career as a teacher. She spent most of her time as a teacher in the Norman Public Schools, where she taught at Kennedy Elementary, Longfellow Middle School, and most recently Alcott Middle School. She used creative methods to teach her students math in an engaging way, building their love for learning. Michelle often skipped lunch to help students and spent time helping them outside of the traditional day.

Michelle loved her family, especially her children and grandson. Her children Max and his wife Sydney, Macy, Sam, and Owen were the loves of her life. Her grandson Kipling grew her heart in ways she couldn’t have imagined. She loved being their mom and caring for them.

Michelle also loved cooking and baking. It was her love language. She cooked from scratch and made amazing meals for her family, friends, and even strangers. It was a special talent that she even used in her classroom in order to teach math and show her students how much she loved them.

She was known for her dry, intellectual sense of humor. Her deep chuckle will always be remembered.

She served at her church in several ways, mostly behind the scenes. She served in the production booth, ushering, cooking, serving food, and in youth ministry.

Michelle loved her family, her friends, her co-workers, and her students. She was an avid reader and especially loved reading in the sun. She loved choreographed dance, and loved being a season ticket holder at the Civic Center’s OKC Broadway. She also enjoyed traveling with her friends on annual girls’ weekends.

She was preceded in death by all of her grandparents. She is survived by her children and grandson; her husband Greg; her mother and step father Cindy and Tim Guyer; her father and step mother Seth and Millie Perry; her sisters and their families Carla and Mark Saulsberry and two sons and Megan and Chris Tincker and one daughter; and other extended family. Michelle is also survived by many friends.

Services will be held on Tuesday, June 15th, 2021 @ 11:00am at Memorial Park Cemetery's Mausoleum under the direction of Memorial Park Funeral Home.
